Welcome to Sri Lanka. Our ‘Wonderway Travels’ Tour Guide will meet you and your family at Bandaranaike International Airport and transfer to the hotel in Colombo approximately one hour away. Your first day in Sri Lanka is free for you to relax or explore however you wish.

Colombo, Sri Lanka’s bustling capital and a historic port city on the western coast, is a vibrant mix of races, religions, and cultures. The city reflects both the best and the challenges of Sri Lanka, with grand mansions, lush gardens, fine dining, and shopping malls side by side with bustling street markets and congested roads. For lunch, consider visiting the Dutch Hospital, a charming heritage complex filled with cafés, restaurants, and boutiques. If seafood is your preference, don’t miss ‘The Ministry of Crab’, co-owned by cricket legend Kumar Sangakkara, famous for its fresh, succulent crab dishes. 3RD ODI AT PREMADASA STADIUM | 1.30PM – 10.30PM
ADMISSION INCLUDE (Approximately 1/2 hours from Colombo)
Today’s final ODI promises to be an exciting match. Remember to carry your ticket and ID, wear breathable clothing with sun protection, and stay hydrated. After Lunch, transfer to the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium for exciting day of cricket. Take your seat in the stands alongside your fellow fans, soaking up the electric atmosphere as the final match gets underway. Cheer, celebrate, and enjoy every moment of the on-field action as England and Sri Lanka battle it out in the last ODI of the series. This is your chance to experience the thrilling energy of the stadium and create lasting memories with your travel companions. After the match, meet your guide at the same gate to proceed to the bus park. Dinner is not included, so feel free to enjoy a meal of your choice at the stadium.

Next, Visit the Sea Turtle Hatchery in Habaraduwa, a conservation center protecting endangered turtles, where you can learn about rescue and release programs. MADU RIVER SAFARI | 11.30AM – 1.30PM

Glide into the enchanting estuary of Madu Ganga — a living sanctuary of mangroves, islands, and wildlife. Watch monkeys feast in the treetops, water monitors slip through calm waters, and vibrant birds line the banks in quiet anticipation. Scattered across the lagoon, 64 islands reveal hidden shrines and small communities, each adding its own story to this timeless river paradise.
TURTLE HATCHERY 2.00PM – 3.00PM
ADMISSION INCLUDED (Approximately 1 hour from Madu Ganga River)
On the way we stop turtle Hatchery. Local volunteers are always welcome to come and be educated about the dangers facing turtles in the oceans and on land, and get an up close chance to see baby turtles. so many baby turtles. The centre gets the eggs off the beaches where they’re vulnerable to predators and poachers, hatches them and then cares for them until they’re released a few days after hatching.
GALLE PORT 4.00PM – 6.00PM
ADMISSION INCLUDED (Approximately 1 hour from Turtle Hatchery)
Spend the evening exploring the charm of Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site built by the Dutch over 500 years ago. Walk along its historic ramparts as your guide shares stories of colonial history and hidden treasures. The fort is lined with beautiful restaurants where you may enjoy dinner at your own expense. We depart Galle Fort at 8:30 PM and return to the hotel by 9:30 PM.

After breakfast, the tour heads to Kandy, Sri Lanka’s hill capital and historic strong hold of the Sinhala kings. En route, visit spice gardens to learn about the island’s famous spices, which have attracted traders and colonizers for centuries.
PINNAWALA ELEPHANT ORPHANAGE | 11.00AM – 01.00PM
Approximately 21/2hours’ drive through lush green countryside our second stop is the inspiring Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. Established in 1975 with just five calves, the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage encompasses a 25-acre property and do not be surprised to witness baby elephants being bottle fed or moving around freely causing absolutely no harm to anyone. Watch these gentle giants during their feeding time and observe them frolicking in the waters of the River MahaOya, during their bath time respectively for an experience that could never be felt anywhere else on earth! Very close to the river as your wish we can arrange your Lunch at Restaurant. Lunch is not included—feel free to purchase any meal you like at the Restaurant.
SPICE GARDEN | 01.30PM – 03.00PM
On our 1 1/2-hour drive to Kandy, we’ll stop at the Mawanella Spice Garden, where you can gain a little insight about Sri Lanka’s spices. From there you can gain a little insight about Sri Lanka’s spices, which were coveted commodities during the Spice Trade. From there Spice garden guide will give you free knowledge about Sri Lankan Spices. It’s a memorable chance to touch in spice plant and explore about tress medicine values you can know. You’ll sniff cardamom, clove and cinnamon, and perhaps seven get a taste of raw chocolate and vanilla. There provide you free cookery demonstration and 20 minute free oil massage. There’s a chance to stock up on massage oils, spices and Ayurvedic medicines.

Spend the morning at leisure—relax at your hotel, Explore Kandy City this morning, including a visit to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, home to Buddha’s sacred tooth, or soak in the scenic surroundings. Later, join your tour group for the transfer to Pallekele International Cricket Stadium for the first T20 of the series. Arrive at the stadium ready to soak up the thrilling atmosphere, cheer for your team, and enjoy an action-packed evening of fast-paced, white-ball cricket with fellow fans.
TEMPLE OF THE SACRED TOOTH RELIC | 09.00AM – 10.30AM

Kandy is a picturesque hill town set beside a serene lake and is home to the Temple of the Tooth, Sri Lanka’s most sacred Buddhist relic. We begin with a visit to the temple during the daily ceremony. The Tooth of Buddha was removed from his funeral pyre in 543 BC and eventually brought to Sri Lanka in the 4th century AD. The temple attracts hundreds of worshippers every day and is open to the public, offering visitors a glimpse into Sri Lanka’s rich spiritual heritage.
1ST T20I AT PALLEKELE CRICKET STADIUM | 06.00PM – 10.30PM
ADMISSION INCLUDE (Approximately 1/2 hours from Colombo)
T20 matches are played under lights, so bring your ticket and ID, dress comfortably for the cooler evening, and carry only essentials—leaving valuables at the hotel. A short refreshment will be provided during the game. The group will leave the hotel at 5:30 pm and arrive at Stadium Gate 2 by 5:30 pm. After the match, meet your guide at the same gate to proceed to the bus park. Dinner is not included, so you are free to purchase food at the ground.

Enjoy Wonderway Travels tour to Sigiriya Rock Fortress. The tour includes a morning transfer to Dambulla, a stop for lunch, and a climb to the top of the 5th-century UNESCO World Heritage site, famous as one of Asia’s best-preserved ancient city centers. After taking in the spectacular views, return to Kandy in the early evening.
VILLAGE TOUR | 12.00PM – 02.00PM
Village Tour Sri Lanka gives you a chance to experience traditional Sri Lanka with all its authenticity. You will then move back to the village amazing traditional bullock cart ride, traditional catamaran ride and be introduced to a local, traditional mud house Refresh your self who will give you a half hour cooking demonstration on traditional Sri Lankan cooking & and enjoy your lunch. Those with a knack for adventure, try climbing the makeshift “tree house” from where the villagers keep watch and drive-away the wild animals during the night.
SIGIRIYA ROCK | 03.00PM – 04.30PM
After breakfast, we head to Sigiriya to climb the iconic Lion Rock Fortress. A series of steps and walkways zigzag up the rock face, leading to the summit. According to ancient Sri Lankan chronicles, King Kasyapa built his royal palace here in the 5th century, with a grand entrance shaped like a lion. From the top, the palace once looked out over the capital city spread below. Today, this UNESCO World Heritage Site invites you to explore its fascinating ruins — from the surrounding moat and elegant water gardens to the terraced pathways. Along the way, pause to admire the 5th-century frescoes that have captivated visitors for centuries.

2ND T20 & KANDY CITY TOUR (INCLUDED EXCURSION) Explore Kandy City this morning. In the afternoon, join your group for the transfer to Pallekele International Cricket Stadium for the second T20 of the series. Enjoy the match from the stands before returning to your hotel after play. Today offers a gentle blend of leisure, nature, and cultural discovery. Relax in the morning, explore the lush Kandy Botanical Garden, browse local markets, and experience the vibrant rhythms of a traditional cultural show.
ROYAL BOTANICAL GARDENS | 09.00AM – 10.30AM
As Sri Lanka’s largest garden an elegant and spacious 147-acres (60-hectares)plenty of time is needed to stroll Peradeniya’s imposing Avenue of Royal Palms. There are some 4,000 different species of plants at Peradeniya Gardens. The 10,000 or so trees, which are the stars, are mature, lofty giants, many of them tropical timber trees. highlights of the collection include the Giant Bamboo of Burma, capable of growing to 40 meters height (130 feet) with a 25-centimetre (10-inch) stem diameter. And it can grow by a rapid 30 centimeters a day (12 inches). Next, we visit a sari factory to learn about these traditional garments, which have been worn in Sri Lanka for thousands of years. Here, we watch how silk is woven into rolls of beautifully coloured fabric, and there’s even time for some dressing up!
GEM MUSEUM | 11.00AM – 12.00PM
You will also visit to the gem museum and lapidary, where you can learn about the history of gem mining in Sri Lanka.The Kandy Gem Museum offers a fascinating glimpse into the history, mining processes, and craftsmanship behind these treasures. SHOPPING EXPERIENCE IN KANDY
Indulge in an exciting shopping experience in Kandy, the cultural capital of Sri Lanka, where tradition meets modernity. Join Wonderway Travels tour to Minneriya National Park. Depart in the morning with a stop for lunch in Dambulla before heading into the park in safari jeeps. MINNERIYA NATIONAL PARK | 02.30PM – 06.00PM

In the afternoon, you can choose to take an optional game drive in Minneriya, Kaudulla National Park, or the Hurulu Eco Park to see wild elephants in their natural habitat. Those who prefer not to join the safari can simply relax and enjoy the hotel’s comforts. These expansive parks serve as vital feeding grounds for elephants from the surrounding forests. With the guidance of an experienced park ranger, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to spot and photograph these gentle giants as they gather in the cool evening light. The parks are also home to playful monkey species, sambar deer, and impressive water birds like storks and pelicans. Your safari will take you through the lush Habarana jungle — the very location where Disney Nature’s Monkey Kingdom was filmed.

It’s time for the final T20 of the series. After a relaxing day, join your tour group for a late afternoon transfer to Pallekele International Cricket Stadium. Please carry your ticket and ID, wear comfortable evening clothing, and bring only essentials. The group will depart the hotel at 5:30 PM and arrive at Stadium Gate 2 by 5:30 PM. Take your seat in the stands for the last match of the tour, cheering on the teams from the first ball and enjoying the thrilling atmosphere. After play concludes, you’ll return by transfer to your hotel. Dinner is not included, allowing you to enjoy a meal of your choice at the stadium.

After breakfast, check out of your hotel and begin your transfer back to Colombo for the final night of the tour. Discover the region’s tea heritage with a visit to a tea plantation and factory, learning how Sri Lankan tea is grown and processed. Arrive in Colombo for one last evening, reflecting on the incredible experiences and memories shared with your fellow Wonderway Travels Travel Members as the tour comes to a close.
TEA FACTORY
After the tea plucking experience, enjoy a short hike through the plantation to a viewpoint overlooking the surrounding villages. Then, visit a Tea Factory and plantation to see how the world-famous Ceylon Tea is carefully grown, harvested, and processed.
NUWARA ELIYA
Once a favorite hill station during the British era, Nuwara Eliya sits at 1,890 meters in the cool highlands and retains a charming British feel. Locally known as “Little England,” the town is dotted with colonial-style houses, hotels, and even a racecourse. The area is famous for its high-quality tea, and later in the day, we will visit a working tea plantation to see how this world-renowned tea is produced.
CITY TOUR
There will be an optional walk into the hills around the town and also time to explore the bazaar. Your day is free to spend at your leisure. Perhaps head to Victoria Park for a relaxing stroll around a mixture of wild and sculpted plant life.
