SIGIRIYA ROCK
Sigiriya, the iconic Lion Rock Fortress. A series of steps and walkways zigzag up the rock face, leading to the summit. According to ancient Sri Lankan chronicles, King Kasyapa built his royal palace here in the 5th century, with a grand entrance shaped like a lion.
From the top, the palace once looked out over the capital city spread below. POLONNARUWA
Ancient city of Polonnaruwa, Sri Lanka’s medieval capital dating back to the 10th century. This UNESCO World Heritage Site flourished in the 12th century and is filled with remarkable ruins from its golden age.
We’ll hop on bicycles and ride along flat, scenic roads to explore ancient statues, stairways, and columns. Along the way, discover temples, tombs, and stupas, and visit the spectacular Quadrangle. home to some of the finest Buddhist relics and ruins from a thousand years ago, when Sinhalese culture reached its peak.

TEMPLE OF THE SACRED TOOTH
Kandy is a picturesque hill town set beside a serene lake and is home to the Temple of the Tooth, Sri Lanka’s most sacred Buddhist relic. We begin with a visit to the temple during the daily ceremony.

ROYAL BOTANICAL GARDENS
As Sri Lanka’s largest garden an elegant and spacious 147-acres (60-hectares) plenty of time is needed to stroll Peradeniya’s imposing Avenue of Royal Palms.
There are some 4,000 different species of plants at Peradeniya Gardens. The 10,000 or so trees, which are the stars, are mature, lofty giants, many of them tropical timber trees. Highlights of the collection include the Giant Bamboo of Burma, capable of growing to 40 meters height (130 feet) with a 25-centimetre (10-inch) stem diameter. And it can grow by a rapid 30 centimeters a day (12 inches).

TRAIN JOURNEY
One of the World’s Greatest Railway Journeys. The train was brought to life in the mid-1800s when Sri Lanka was under British colonial rule. Travel by train from Nanu Oya to Ella, the most beautiful stretch of the upcountry route. In this stretch between Ohiya and Idalgashinna in a distance of 8.5km there are 14 tunnels (nos.22- 35), the longest being 181.09m.
TEA FACTORY
After the tea plucking experience, enjoy a short hike through the plantation to a viewpoint overlooking the surrounding villages. Then, visit a Tea Factory and plantation to see how the world-famous Ceylon Tea is carefully grown, harvested, and processed.
NUWARA ELIYA – CITY TOUR
Once a favorite hill station during the British era, Nuwara Eliya sits at 1,890 meters in the cool highlands and retains a charming British feel. Locally known as “Little England,” the town is dotted with colonial-style houses, hotels, and even a racecourse. The area is famous for its high-quality tea, and later in the day, we will visit a working tea plantation to see how this world-renowned tea is produced.
There will be an optional walk into the hills around the town and also time to explore the bazaar. Your day is free to spend at your leisure. Perhaps head to Victoria Park for a relaxing stroll around a mixture of wild and sculpted plant life.

Hike Horton Plains to World’s End, cross Ella’s arches, and rest near Yala’s untamed wilderness.
HORTON PLAINS NATIONAL PARK
Horton Plains, a high plateau over 2,000 m, surrounded by Sri Lanka’s second- and third-highest peaks. The best way to explore is on foot, so we take a guided walk through the grasslands, hoping to spot sambur deer and purple-faced monkeys. We then visit World’s End, where the land drops 1,050 m to the plains below.
After the hike, we board a train from Sri Lanka’s highest railway station and descend from 1,889 m to 1,097 m in about 90 minutes, passing cloud forests, tea plantations, and stunning valley views.
NINE ARCH BRIDGE
Our journey continues as we will stop at the famous Nine Arch Bridge. Based on the Demodara loop, it is a spectacular feat of engineering and construction spanning 91 metres. The beautiful nine arches make it a very picturesque spot especially as it is located in a dense jungle and agricultural setting. We will take a 20 minute walk off the beaten track down and around the bridges, with many picturesque views and photo opportunities along the way.
RAVANA WATERFALL
Experience the breathtaking beauty of Ella’s Ravana Waterfall, a gem nestled in the heart of Sri Lanka’s lush greenery. Feel the mist from the roaring 82-foot cascade as it plunges into a crystal-clear pool below, surrounded by the mystical charm of ancient legend.
BUDURANGALA TEMPLE
Buduruwagala, an ancient rock temple near Wellawaya, Sri Lanka, is an ideal stop if you’re traveling from Ella to the southern region. Dating back to the 10th century, the site features seven impressive rock-cut statues, including the towering 51-foot figure of the Buddha, believed to be “Deepankara Buddha.” Faint traces of vibrant colors still visible on the statues hint at their former brilliance, offering visitors a glimpse into the temple’s historical grandeur. A visit here is perfect for those interested in Sri Lanka’s rich history and spiritual heritage.

WHALE WATCHING
Begin your whale‑watching trip at 6:30 AM from Mirissa Port and head into the deep ocean to spot blue whales, sperm whales, dolphins, and other marine life. SINHARAJA
Sinharaja Rainforest is Sri Lanka’s last major stretch of primary tropical rainforest and is protected not only a Biosphere Reserve but also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, designated for its global significance in biodiversity conservation. Covering over 11,000 hectares in the island’s southwest, it is one of the most important biodiversity hotspots in the country. More than 60% of its trees are endemic, and it is home to a remarkable range of wildlife. Around 95% of Sri Lanka’s endemic bird species live here, including the red‑faced malkoha and the Sri Lanka blue magpie. The forest also shelters mammals such as the purple‑faced langur, giant squirrel, and the elusive leopard, along with many reptiles, amphibians, and unique invertebrates like the Sri Lankan birdwing butterfly.

Local volunteers are always welcome to come and be educated about the dangers facing turtles in the oceans and on land, and get an up close chance to see baby turtles. so many baby turtles. The centre gets the eggs off the beaches where they’re vulnerable to predators and poachers, hatches them and then cares for them until they’re released a few days after hatching.

Galle is a captivating coastal city in southern Sri Lanka, famous for its rich history, colonial architecture, and vibrant cultural scene. At its heart lies the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Galle Fort, a 16th-century fortress originally built by the Portuguese and later strengthened by the Dutch.
The city offers plenty of activities, including visiting the iconic Galle Lighthouse, strolling along the fort’s ramparts for panoramic ocean views, or exploring maritime history at the National Maritime Museum.

MADU RIVER SAFARI
